Tiny Friends | Mosaic Embroidery | one day workshop

No experience required.

This is an in person workshop held at Baaad Rabbits in New West. 

Explore the joy of mosaic embroidery, developed by Tomomi Mimura of Tiny Friends. In this one day workshop, we will spend the morning session learning and practicing the different techniques, in the afternoon you will start your Tiny Friend!

The workshop covers:

• Single cross stitch (mosaic embroidery technique)
• Double cross stitch (mosaic embroidery technique)
• Turkey Knot stitch
• How to embroider the eyes
• French Knot
• How to sew the pieces together
• Ensure you understand all the instructions

Materials required: (not included)

• Tiny Friends book by Tomomi Mimura available here. Please note supplies are limited so please purchase your book at the same time as signing up for the class.
• 2 x 10 x 10 inch square of Linen, available here
• Tapestry needles available here
• Embroidery needles, available here
• 6" Embroidery hoop
• Embroidery scissors
• Embroidery floss for details: white for eyes, black for pupils
• Scraps of fingering weight yarn, or use a Halo Bundle or Okanagan Zebra.
• Marking pen available here
• Pencil
• Leather cord for arms and legs if needed for your toy

• Saturday July 26th 10am - 5pm - includes one hour break for lunch 1pm - 2pm.

Credit for future classes or a refund minus $15 administration fee will only be provided if we are notified either by phone or email at least 3 days (72 hours) in advance of the class or workshop.

Please note - Baaad Rabbits is located in an old building with no insulation - if it is cold outside, the shop is also cold in the morning - please dress accordingly.

Rebecca has been knitting since she was 7 years old and crocheting since she was 10! She has always had a love for textiles and colour. Teaching people how to knit and crochet expresses one of her greatest joys; sharing her creativity and passion with people.
