This is an in person class.
Would you like to learn how to Steek? If this is on your 'want to learn' list, but you're too nervous to try by yourself, then come and cut your knitting and learn to steek with us at Baaad Rabbits!
The first week we will cover two handed colourwork Fair Isle knitting including catching/ weaving in your yarns. If two handed colourwork is not for you, Rebecca will show you how to work with yarns coming from the same hand so your yarns don't tangle too.
The second week we will steek, cover picking up stitches and best practices for button bands.
Dates: Sunday October 1st and 15th 1:30-3:30pm
Materials required (not included):
Yarn: Non superwash wool, for example Cascade 220. 36m/ 40y of main colour. 14m/ 15y of 4 additional colours (you can also make the design in two colours if you wish)
Needles: 3.75mm/ US size 5 DPN's or circulars either 9" for small circumference knitting, or 32" for magic loop.
Crochet hook: approx 4mm.
- Darning needle
- Stitch markers
- Three buttons
With A, CO 49 sts using a crochet cast-on (or your preferred cast-on) Do not join in the round.
Row 1 (RS): K2, (p1, k1) to last st, k1
Row 2 (WS): P2, (k1, p1) to last st, p1
Work Rows 1&2 once more, then work Row 1 once more.
