New in store!

New in store!
New in store!

So many new things!

I've been a very busy rabbit this week, opening up the boxes, finding all the pretties, getting them up on the website and out onto the shop floor!

I spent quite a bit of my day on Thursday, staring at the wall of yarn and just wondering where on earth things would fit! I figured most it out, everything has a home, except our new Chenillove Degrade, but that's next weeks problem!!

We've got our Halloween/ new in-store display all zhuzhed up, and I'm so happy to finally have a Ricorumi Halloween book for you! It's something that's been asked for every year, and finally we've been able to get our hands on one!

Ricorumi released another book, In the Meadow, full of beautiful flowers which arrived this week too.

We've had a box full of beautiful project bags arrive from Atelier Nekozuki, all handmade in Canada, these are available in store only.

Arne & Carlos collection 3!

I wasn't sure if I'd get the next Arne & Carlos collection, we've had it twice now and I wondered whether that was enough, however, once I saw what the collection was, I couldn't hit the order button quick enough!

'The Painted House Collection captures the character of painted walls, worn floors, vintage furniture, and the changing light of each space. Each colourway draws from a different room and its unique atmosphere, creating rich, layered combinations of colour that feel both historic and completely alive'

Eight beautiful colours to choose from, it even makes me want to make a pair!

Add in galore!

We do love an Add-in at Baaad Rabbits, nothing like turning your yarn into something unique to you. We've expanded our collection with Make it Flocken, for pom pom yarn, Make it Paillette for some extra sequin love, and Creative Make it Multicolor. I've swatched a little with Make it Flocken, and I'm hoping to cast on a tank soon. Next week I'll play with Make it Paillette, and Make it Multicolor and I'll share all the samples and ideas next week.

Off Paula's needle

Paula's had her eye on the Gemstone since it landed in store, and on Monday she whipped up one of her favourite hats, Haiku Slouchy hat (Ravelry link) by Char Kohl. Last December Paula knitted one of these hats, and then, just couldn't stop knitting them, over and over again...

Paula was introduced to this pattern when her friend Brenda who couldn’t finish this knit as hoped. Paula stepped in to knit a matching pair for her two daughters. And then it continued… She dove deep into her stash of thinner chunky yarn and just enjoyed watching how different yarns worked with the pattern. The two sections of easy-to-memorize cable-style stitches used in this hat is what held her captive. Starting with a simple 1/1 cable it formed a nice springy band, and then moved into a looser faux-cable stitch with beautiful stitch definition for the slouchy part of hat, and suddenly voila, another finished!

I wonder whether this Gemstone knit will get her on a Haiku train again! To make the hat with only one ball of Gemstone, Paula worked 8 repeats of the body instead of 10. If you want a slouchy hat, buy 2 balls.

Don't forget the socks!

We are collecting socks (store bought) all October long for people in our community with cold feet who could use a little warmth and kindness.

Baaad Anna’s & Baaad Rabbit's is teaming up with STASH Lounge, and Little Red Mitten to collect new socks for local organizations and mutual aid groups supporting people in need.

Bring in packs of new store-bought socks and you will get a entry ticket for the Soctober Prize basket. One ticket per pair; so feel free to costco-up and bring in multiples in packs!

The prize basket will start with two skeins of sock yarn from Paula's personal coveted stash. For every 100 pairs of socks donated in store, Paula will add another skein! That means the more socks we collect, the bigger the yarn haul gets.

We've collected 16 pairs in our first week, how many socks will we get in our second week?!
