Lichen & Lace Embroidery yarn

I have been an appreciator of Lichen & Lace for many years, they were one of the Canadian hand dyers we stocked when we first opened. I was so happy to see them at Knit City last year, along with their (new-ish) embroidery yarn. I of course had to buy some of the pretties (for me) and it wasn't many weeks later that I started stitching a pocketful of flowers!

Fast forward a few months, we reached out to Lichen & Lace to see if they would wholesale their embroidery yarn, the answer was yes (as you can see) and I was SO thrilled!!!

We have 30 colours available, including my favourite Lichen & Lace colours; Pressed Flowers, Wild Flowers, Marsh Lily (and so many more) and some of their new colours. Obviously I had to get their new 'rainbow' colour. (because I love rainbows!)

I've been floating the idea of offering an Embroidery on Denim workshop to a few of my students and received a warm response. Now the new embroidery yarn is here, I've been able to schedule the workshop!

It's gonna be a lot of fun, and I'm looking forward to stitching with you. Some prior experience is required, so if you have't dived in to embroidery yet we have one spot left for the Embroidery 101 April workshop, and spaces available for May too! If stitching on denim isn't your cup of tea, but you'd like to broaden your skills then Embroidery 202 is for you!

I've also stocked up on some more Embroidery goodies! We have two *great* new books in store, Foolproof Flower Embroidery, if you love flowers you will love this book, and a Hand Embroidery Dictionary and Card Deck by Christen Brown, both a wonderful resource.

We've stocked up on washable stabilizer, and have new Stick & Stitch packs! (It's been like Christmas this week opening all the embroidery goodies and getting them in stock!)

The new embroidery yarn is currently only available in store, be sure to swing by to take a look!

Skill builders!

We have the next offering of Sweater Knitting class starting in 2 weeks, we have a couple of spots left if you've been thinking of taking this class. The students from the first offerings this year are doing SO well, we've been trying on the yokes this week, and there's been so many happy faces!

If you have goals to make a sweater but you don't feel ready just yet, we have some great skill builder classes for you. First up, a new class; Fingerless gloves (wristwarmers), so many transferable skills, this is a great one for those of you with sweater goals!

The knitted chicken is back, a low risk fun project, where you will learn short rows, knitted cast on, decreases and sewing!

The ever essential Learn how to Fix mistakes workshop is being offered for a second time in May as the first one sold out.

Next week I'll be scheduling some new crochet classes too!

Student appreciation!

Last year Michele took the Fair Isle and Steeking workshop, and now just look at what she's made!! I absolutely love seeing the projects you make, and of course I do have a special place in my heart when I see my students use the skills they've learnt in one of our workshops!

If you'd like to take the Fair Isle & Steeking workshop, it starts next Thursday April 9th at 6:30pm.
