We love teaching at Baaad Rabbits, if you'd like to learn how to knit, crochet, learn new techniques or knit your first sweater, we've got a class for you!

September:

Learn to BriocheSaturday September 16th, 9:30 - 11:30am.

A brioche workshop for anyone who has never brioche-ed before or would like a refresh. You will first learn how to work one colour brioche, before moving onto two colour (where the real fun starts!) Sign up here

 

Fixing Mistakes: Sunday September 17th 9:30 - 11:30am.

This workshop is for those of you who would like to learn how to fix your mistakes in knitting. Regardless of how long you've been knitting for, you never stop making mistakes, the key is becoming confident in fixing them in an efficient and stress less way! Sign up here.

 

Two hand Colourwork KnittingSunday September 17th 12 - 2pm.

 Learning to be able to knit with yarn from both hands is the first step in being able to knit with yarn coming from both hands at the same time.

In this workshop you will learn how to knit with yarn from your non dominant hand and then you will try knitting with two colours, one from each hand. Sign up here

 

Fuse Cardigan Class: Starting Tuesday September 19th, 6:30 - 8pm, 8 part class.

Fuse by Veronik Avery is a stunning and unique design. The body and cowl style neckline is worked in one piece from bottom up, joining the sleeves at the underarm and finishing along the top neck. Not only an interesting shape but with the addition of a lace pattern. Sign up here.

 

Knit a Sweater that fits you: Starting Thursday September 21st, 6:30 - 8pm, 5 part class.

Learn not only how to knit a sweater, but also how to make one that fits you the way you want it to in this in-depth five part class.

October:

Learn to KnitStarts Sunday October 1st, 9:30 - 11am. 4 part series. 

A beginner level class for anyone who has never picked up needles or you are in need of a refresh. You will learn how to cast on, knit, purl and cast off whilst making a pair or wristwarmers. Sign up here.

 

Learn to Crochet: Starts Sunday October 1st, 11:30am - 1pm. 4 part series. 

A beginner level class for anyone who has never picked up a hook or if you are in need of a refresh. You will learn how chain stitch, single crochet, half double crochet and double crochet, then apply these skills to making a scrubby and an amigurumi rainbow. Sign up here.

 

Fair Isle & Steeking: Starts Sunday October 1st, 1:30 - 3:30pm, 2 part class.

The first week we will cover two handed colourwork Fair Isle knitting including catching/ weaving in your yarns. If two handed colourwork is not for you, Rebecca will show you how to work with yarns coming from the same hand so your yarns don't tangle too. The second week, we will Steek! Sign up here.

 

Brioche Cable Hat: Starts Thursday October 12th, 6:30 - 8:30pm. 3 part series.

Flaming Beanie is a fully reversible dynamic and fun bricohe cable hat design. We will take you through step by step, covering brioche in the round, working cables so they are reversible and brioche decreases. Sign up here

 

Yarn Tasting Shawl | Technique and skill building shawl: Starts Saturday October 14th, 9:30 - 11am. 6 part series. 

If you are wanting to learn more about fibres, about how knitted fabric is constructed, how to read your fabric and fix mistakes then this 6 week/ 9 hour class is for you. Six different yarns, six different textures and a great way to learn all about different yarns, fibres and textures. Sign up here

 

Butterfly ShawlSaturday October 14th, 11:30am - 2:30pm.

Butterfly shawl by MarinJaKnits is a stunning two colour shawl. The shaping of the butterfly is created with short rows. 

In this 3 hour workshop and using two small amounts of yarn (40m/ 44y) of contrasting colours and learn all the techniques required to make this stunning shawl and how to navigate the pattern afterwards independently. Sign up here.

 

Pixelated Sweater: Starts Tuesday October 17th; 9:30am - 11am *or* 6:30 - 8pm.

Pixelated Pullover by Jennifer Beaumont is a fun stranded colourwork sweater, a top down, in the round, set-in-sleeve using the contiguous sleeve method developed by Susie Myers. It's a cool, interesting way to make a sweater! Sign up here. 

 

Needle Felting, Halloween EditionSaturday October 21st, 12 - 2pm.

Join us for a 2 hour workshop in Needle Felting, no previous experience required. Needle Felting is a quick and fun way to make three dimensional fibre pieces. 

Local artist, Mel Broome will be hosting this beginners event, and will teach you the basics of 3D needle felting, the tricks to creating a fine finish on your work, how to mix and shape wool like a pro. Sign up here.

Sunflower Crochet Granny Square: Starts Sunday November 12th, 1:30 - 3:30pm, 2 part class.

Together we will make a Sunflower granny square, in the first class you will learn how to make the Sunflower, the second class you will work the border and learn how to join the squares together. Sign up here

 

Double Knit WorkshopSaturday November 18th 11:30am - 2:30pm.

Double knit is the art of creating a two layer knit fabric, whilst working 2 or more colours across a row a to create a mirror matched design (or even a non mirror matched design!)

In this workshop you will learn the modern technique of working two yarns across the row at the same time whilst creating a mirror match design. You can make the Butterfly design (Ravelry link) or you are welcome to bring another chart of your choice if you'd prefer to knit a different design.
