Mimic | Crochet scarf/shawl | 3 hour workshop

You need to be confident in working a double crochet to take this class. This is a great skill builder if you have recently learnt to crochet!

Mimic by Polly Plum is a fun and relatively straight forward make, utilizing V stitches, moss stitch, and increases/ decreases to work a dynamic bias design scarf/ shawl!

The beginning starts as a triangle, and when the piece is the desired width you work the extension. During the workshop you will start your shawl, working on the first moss stitch and V stitch section. Rebecca will also demo how you follow the pattern for the extension.

This class will cover:

• V stitch (Double crochets + chains)
• Moss stitch (single crochets + chains)
• How to follow a pattern
• Work standing stitch
• Work false stitch (optional, suitable for more experienced crochet-ers)
• How to place stitch markers to correctly mark the first stitch of the row
• How to sew in your ends

Materials required (not included):

• Yarn: We recommend fingering weight yarn, you can either use 2 skeins of the same colour or two different colours. Sample made using WildWestDye pure merino fingering in Mermaid and WildWestDye merino/ cashmere/ silk singles. 2 skeins will make a scarf, if you want a shawl you will need 4 skeins.
• Pattern: Mimic Shawl by Polly Plum on their website here.
• Hook: Recommend 3.75mm, or hook size as per your tension/ preference.

Make up classes are not available, if you miss a session, Rebecca will do her best to get you back on track. 

Credit for future classes will only be provided if we are notified either by phone or email at least 3 days in advance of the class or workshop, or a refund minus $15 administration fee.
