Embroidery Stumpwork Strawberries | 3 hour workshop

Previous experience in embroidery required (but not in stumpwork!), either taken the 101 workshop at Baaad Rabbits, or have completed an embroidery piece.

This is an in person workshop held at Baaad Rabbits in New West. 

Step into the wonderful world of Stumpwork embroidery with this beautiful Stumpwork Strawberry Kit!

Stumpwork encompasses all 3D embroidery techniques, in the Strawberry Stumpwork kit you will learn Wire Slip Stumpwork (the leaves) and Corded Detached Filled Buttonhole Stitch (the strawberries).

During this workshop you will learn how to 

• Wire Slip and couching
• Long and Short Stitch
• Stemstitch
• Buttonhole stitch
• Corded Detached Filled Buttonhole Stitch
  

You will work on the leaves and stitch a practice strawberry. Rebecca will demonstrate cutting out the wire slip design and placing in the final design piece.

Materials required: (not included)

• Stumpwork Strawberries Embroidery Kit. Please purchase kit when you register for the workshop as we have a limited stock.
• 5 inch hoop is recommended for stitching. The 4 inch hoop provided in the kit works best for display purposes only.
• Scissors
• Optional: Needle threader

• Optional: 3D Botanical Embroidery and Stumpwork book

Credit for future classes or a refund minus $15 administration fee will only be provided if we are notified either by phone or email at least 3 days (72 hours) in advance of the class or workshop.

Please note - Baaad Rabbits is located in an old building with no insulation - if it is cold outside, the shop is also cold in the morning - please dress accordingly.
