Sophie's Mandala | 2 part workshop

You need to be confident in working a double crochet to take this class.

Sophie's Mandala is the centre part of the epic Sophie's Universe Blanket, a spectacular design which was a CAL (crochet-a-long) back in 2015. The blanket has been on Rebecca's want to make list for quite some time, and 2026 is the year!

In this 2 part workshop we will start the centre mandala, which is a stunning piece by itself, you can then continue on to complete Sophie's Garden, or on to the full universe!

In class one we will start on Sophie, working through round by round, and Rebecca will ensure you are clear on the techniques to complete up to round 10 ready for class 2.

Class two we will continue on our journey and Rebecca will demo any of the stitches we don't get to (clusters and crab stitch).

The design is very well written with clear photos and step by step instructions in the book and on the website. The book includes a full picture glossary of all the stitches at the beginning. This mandala/ blanket was designed with beginner's in mind and is also an incredibly enjoyable design for experienced crochet-ers too.

Materials required (not included):

• Sophie's Universe pattern. This is available free on the designers website, or you can purchase the book through Indigo & Chapters, or Amazon.
• Yarn: Any yarn you wish! We recommend Anchor Bay.
• Hook: 3.5mm - 4.5mm for DK, as per personal gauge, bring a few options with you.
• Removable stitch markers. Coco split ring markers are our recommendation. 
• Scissors
• Darning needle

• Sunday March 15th and 22nd, 10am - 12:30pm
• Sunday March 15th and 22nd 1pm - 3:30pm

Make up classes are not available, if you miss a session, Rebecca will do her best to get you back on track. Help & Assistance workshops are also available.

Credit for future classes will only be provided if we are notified either by phone or email at least 3 days in advance of the class or workshop, or a refund minus $15 administration fee. 

Please note - Baaad Rabbits is located in an old building with no insulation - if it is cold outside, the shop is also cold in the morning - please dress accordingly.
