Spirit of Flora | Crochet class | Motifs 1 - 4

This is an in person class held at Baaad Rabbits in New West. Intermediate: You need to  have completed a crochet project, something similar to Sunflower Crochet or Magic Circle to take this class.

Spirit of Flora (Ravelry link) by Jane Crowfoot is an epic design! Originally released as a make-a-long in 2023 with Inside Crochet magazine, the patterns have now been released for general purchase. During this 4 part, 8 hour class, we will work through all the techniques you need to complete motifs 1 - 4, (pattern bundle 1)

Techniques covered:

• Reading and understanding the pattern
• Standing stitch
• Invisible join & sewing in ends as you go
• Understanding working into stitches vs spaces
• Using stitch markers to keep track of pattern sections
• Surface crochet
• Puff stitches
• Magic ring
• Double crochet 2 & 3 together
• Picot
• Spike single crochet
• Foundation single crochet for making the frames
• Single crochet joining technique

Dates:

• Thursday October 17th, 24th, November 7th & 14th 6:30pm-8:30pm (no class on October 31st)
• Sunday November 17th, 24th, December 1st & 8th, 10am - 12pm.

Materials required: (not included in class price) 

• Spirit of Flora pattern bundle 1-4 available on Ravelry here.
• Recommended Yarn: Anchor Bay; Samples used the following colours: Dusty Aqua, Daffodil, Dusty Lavender, Blueberry Pie, Coral, Deep Lavender, Dark Teal, Aqua Glass, Olive, Celery Green, Chrysanthemum, Soft Rose. Aqua Glass is being used for all the background colour (in place of Oatmeal & Parchment in the designers colourway) so 12 colours are being used instead of 13.
• Crochet hook: 3.5mm/ 4mm & 4.5mm
• Darning needle
• Scissors

Make up classes are not available, if you miss a session, Rebecca will do her best to get you back on track. Help & Assistance workshops are also available.

Credit for future classes or a refund minus $15 administration fee will only be provided if we are notified either by phone or email at least 3 days (72 hours) in advance of the class or workshop.

Please note - Baaad Rabbits is located in an old building with no insulation - if it is cold outside, the shop is also cold in the morning - please dress accordingly.
