Rasta Love!

Are you ready for some Super Bulky loving? There's been such a chill in the air this week I've been pulling out my legwarmers, chunky sweaters and bulky hats!

Our collection of Rasta is now up on the website with so many beautiful colours to choose from. Perfect for quick and satisfying makes!

The shawl featured above is Degraw Shawl (Ravelry link) by Taiga Hilliard. You need 2 skeins of each colour, along with some 15mm needles for a beautiful bulky asymmetric shawl.

Below is the Lara hat (Ravelry link) by Kristel Nieves, with options to make in one or two colours, there's also a Lara Cowl (Ravelry link), a matching set would look fab!

There are *so* many wonderful hat patterns in Rasta to choose from, I also really like Sidewinder beanie (Ravelry link) by Aspen Leaf Knits, and Braided Hearts Bonnet (Ravelry link) by Jill DeMarco.

There are also some great crochet options too:

Northbound Beanie by (Ravelry link) AlyseCrochet

Sunbula (Ravelry link) by Katharine Trinity has a lovely textured brim.

Cobblestone cowl is really cool, pair with an Ultimate Sock or any other fingering to make this textural pebble cowl.

I've also been eyeing up some Super Bulky cardigan ideas and may have already bought this pattern, Sweet Shop Cardigan Chunky (Ravelry link) by Iris H.

These shrugs; Decisiveness and Bobble Berry (Ravelry link) by Brome Fields are a perfect cosy wearable blanket to snuggle up in, I definitely want to make one of these, I'm leaning towards Bobble Berry for sure.

You could make any of these in Rasta, Estelle Bulky or Eco Scandinavian . Combine them to make stripes, or add an accent colour for the ribbing.

I've also been ruminating about combining some add-ins with Eco Scandinavian Super Bulky. Make it yours by adding mohair, sparkle, tweed, sequins or some of our new Zebra fingering from Okanagan Dye works (more about that below) I think I'll get some yarn wound up, make a swatch and go from there. I will update you next week with what I've come up with!

New in store

Our Okanagan Dye Works order has arrived, we have their Zebra fingering merino/ nylon base and Fingering merino/ nylon 3ply (currently only available in store).

Perfect for socks and colourwork yokes like Alpine Bloom and Misurina (Ravelry link) both by Caitlin Hunter.
