New yarns from WildWestDye

WildWestDye has been busy with their dye pots, and winding station, getting ready for Love My LYS (Local Yarn Store) Yarn Crawl weekend!

There's three new yarns for you to choose from, whether these will become shop staples or not, time will tell, but for now there is two colours in each of the bases. The forever loved RainbowCloud, and a new colour for Fall, MapleAurora.

The bases:

Naturally Dyed Suri Silk, 65% Baby Suri/ 35% Silk, 255m per 40g.

Naturally Dyed Merino Neps Fingering, 80% Merino/ 30% Neps, 338m per 100g.

And the oh so sparkly and fun, Naturally Dyed Sequin Silk Merino Sport, 50% Silk with Sequins, 50% merino, 140m per 50g.

I've been busy knitting up some samples, and I absolutely love the Vesna Mini Scarf (Ravelry link) design I choose by Ksenia Naidyon. I've also got the matching Vesna Tee (Ravelry link) on the needles using the Merino Neps Fingering and Suri Silk.

And then there's minis galore! I've wound up a whole pile of minis, perfect to edge your Vesna mini scarf, or you can choose three to knit up a Cupid Cowl (Ravelry link) designed by me!

I also knit up a cute Brioche headband with the leftovers from the scarf. Cast on 15 stitches and brioche away! I love the sequin yarn so much, I can see myself dyeing up a batch just for me to make a top, maybe something like Poppy Tee (Ravelry link) by Petiteknit.

Chaotic Fibre restock & tools galore!

Our Fibre Chest was looking oh so sad, but the lovely Kairee from Chaotic Fibres swung by this Wednesday and we've got it all topped up! There are so many pretties, it's taken everything in me not to take any home!

Our Fibres are only available in store, so be sure to take a look this weekend!

We've also been topping up our tools for Fall, we have a fun and new to us Wild collection from Bohin; scissors, tape measures, and black *and* white marking pencils perfect for your stitching needs!

Knit Pro have also launched a new crochet hook, Vybe, this is a longer length hook than Wave and I know there's been a lot of people asking for that, so now we have an option for you.

PST added to yarn Oct 1st.

There's been a flurry of messaging out there about the PST changes in the wake of the snap provincial election announcement but in the small print it fails to highlight that there is no reprieve on the PST being added to yarn and fibre, and other mending and fibre related businesses as of Oct 1st!

We have a lot of opinions on this, but instead let's focus on the positive: our yarn crawl this weekend is a great opportunity to shop with a 7% reprieve before the October change!

And a general heads up: Cascade 220 Worsted will be increasing in price on 1st October, only by $1, but still it's a double whammy with the addition of PST too, so if you've got your eye or heart set on a worsted weight sweater this Fall, now is the time!
